A Day in Ghent, Belgium
Next up on our mother daughter trip: Ghent.
It’s a really cute city that’s much more modern than Bruges is: there was vast shopping options, Starbucks was in the center, there were tons of tourists wandering around. There was even a general strike while we were there!
While sitting besides the Gravensteen castle in the city center, we enjoyed our first (and unfortunately our last) Belgium waffle of the trip. While my mom chose to have hers plain, mine was covered in chocolate sauce and whipped cream. (Mine was better).
After finishing our wonderful waffles (and getting told off by a local woman for sitting on the wall of the castle incorrectly), we stumbled onto an entire alley that was full of graffiti art.
Just a little fun fact: it was the very first time a Starbucks barista had spelled my name correctly on my cup. And I have Jensen Ackles to thank for that. Here’s the proof.
